We have visited many beautiful places, but Finca Aquarius is our favorite of all. The views are amazing any time of the day, and just the overall experience was great. We loved the wonderful conversations at the table and the cooking experience the most. It was great to use all the fresh produce from the finca. We definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys luxury, adventure, and nature!

We couldn't recommend this place enough, it was a special stay during our time in Costa Rica. What Jan has created is a slice of paradise. The location is stunning, the apartments are beautifully designed, with everything you need and to top it all off, Jan's hospitality is second to none! I would call Finca Aquarius magical if doing so didn't discount the amount of effort, care, thought, and love that Jan and his family have so clearly put into this property. It is breathtakingly beautiful (I literally gasped when we walked inside and saw the view from the large porch) and the interior of the unit is spacious, comfortable, and modern. The location is also close enough to the main Monteverde/Santa Elena area to get to town for activities, but remote enough that you feel peacefully removed from any touristy hustle and bustle. The roads are not paved (typical of the area I think) but it is very doable if you take your time (and have a higher clearance vehicle, probably). Jan himself is an incredible host AND an incredible cook. Booking this stay was the best choice I made on our trip to Costa Rica and I left feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to come back asap—I highly recommend staying here!!

We stayed here for 1 night and had a great time. The property is in an amazing spot, and the owners have put in a ton of work to make it an incredible place to stay on the mountainside with lots of activities nearby. Jan is very friendly and had so many interesting stories to share. We had supper and breakfast with him; he even taught us how to make pinto! This was definitely one of the highlights during our 3 weeks in Costa Rica. We highly recommend staying here when in the area and wish we had more time than one 1 there.

I would certainly recommend staying here for a while and see how things work at this place. They have their own water supply which gives them the electricity and their own vegetables and fruit supply. This couple planted about 1.500 trees! By working together with the local people there is so much more like horseriding, yoga or meditation. Jan is an excellent host who runs this place together with Connie.

We loved staying at Jan's Finca. Jan is an incredible friendly host that will make you feel at home. And he's a very good chef too! The finca is very new with spacious rooms. We loved the location but it can feel isolated for some people, but that's what we wanted. Hope to see you soon in the future!

We stayed with Jan on his property with our car and rooftop tent. Jan was incredibly hospitable and treated us with a smile and lots of personal attention. His wonderful hospitality is actually enough for a five-star rating, but the beautiful grounds and facilities we had full use of further confirmed this. Everything on the mountain is private property and has been built and maintained by him over the past few years. It was truly inspiring to see. In short: want to camp on the most beautiful campsite in Costa Rica near Monteverde? Go to Finca Aquarius!

We had a wonderful stay with Jan at Finca Aquarius! We received an incredibly warm welcome, and Jan took fantastic care of us: the most delicious breakfasts and dinners, great tips for the area, and wonderful conversations, culminating in a massage from Conny (Jan's girlfriend). We loved the beautiful room with its lovely terrace and stunning view! The area is wonderfully peaceful, and we truly enjoyed the surrounding nature. And a tip: if you have a 4x4: take the shortcut through the river. From the Finca, you'll see "River without a Bridge" on Google Maps—it saves you 20 minutes of bumpy driving!

Jan's service is exceptional; we were able to have dinner with him two nights in a row. He's a great chef and a very pleasant person to have a good chat with. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful location, lovely rooms with a fantastic view. Waking up every morning was wonderful.

We stayed two nights with our family, received a warm welcome, and enjoyed delicious breakfasts. Everything was fresh from their own garden. We also had a lovely dinner with Jan in the evening and played a game. Oh, and what sweet dogs! We all would have loved to stay longer :)
